Exclusive Prime pricing. Amazing 3rd album from Ten Wheel Drive with Genya Ravan solidifies their strengths with great songs, vocals & musicianship. I LOVE this album - it's features tighter arrangements, with the band aiming for a harder rock sound mixed with the horns of course. It also features what should have been a massive hit - a breezy, soothing song named " SHOOTIN' THE BREEZE " that is just gorgeously sung by Genya.

The ten-piece band that was Ten Wheel Drive continued after Genya Ravan signed with CBS for her 1972 album with the band Baby. It's a second cousin to "Shootin' the Breeze" from the Peculiar Friends LP, while "See You to Love" is a comfy middle-of-the-road blues/rock ballad. It should come as no surprise that along with "Monsoon Rain," the best track on the album was co-written by former singer Genya Ravan. Why Am I So Easy to Leave" is most prophetic, though it is clear the lament is for the band who lost their star attraction.

In 1968, after the final break-up of the all-female rock band Goldie & The Gingerbreads, Genya Ravan was looking for a new band, as were two New Jersey musicians and songwriters, Michael Zager and Aram Schefrin. Acquainted by their managers, the three musicians would become the nucleus of the new band.

Goldie (born Genyusha Zelkovicz; April 19, 1945) is an American rock singer and producer. She was lead singer of The Escorts, Goldie & the Gingerbreads, and Ten Wheel Drive. Genya was born in Łódź, Poland, and arrived in the United States in 1947, accompanied by her parents and one sister. They were the only family members who had survived the Nazi Holocaust in Europe; she also had two brothers, who both died. They did not speak any English.

Ten Wheel Drive lasted three years. They recorded three albums for Polydor Records: Construction number 1, Brief Replies, Peculiar Friends Are Better Than No Friends. They had many fans, but the group did not take off. Genya left the band in 1971. She was signed to Columbia Records by Clive Davis where she made one album in 1972 titled simply Genya Ravan. Four more solo albums followed through the 1970s.
