Alber Hammond OBE is a Gibraltarian singer, songwriter and record producer. A prolific songwriter, he collaborated most notably with other renowned songwriters Mike Hazlewood, John Bettis, Diane Warren as well as Holly Knight, Carole Bayer Sager.

Albert Hammond OBE (born 18 May 1944 in London, England, and raised in Gibraltar) is a British singer, songwriter and record producer. In 1960, he started in music with Gibraltarian band 'The Diamond Boys', which had no real commercial success, but played a part in Spain's introduction to popular music. In 1966 Hammond co-founded the British vocal group The Family Dogg, scoring a UK Top 10 hit with "A Way of Life" in 1969.

At the age of 18, Hammond moved back to England. In the beginning of the 70s, Hammond moved to Los Angeles in the United States, where he continued his professional career as a musician. He's the father of Albert Hammond Jr. from The Strokes. On 19 June 2008, Hammond was inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Please use Hammond-Hazlewood when listed with Michael Hazlewood.
