Skepta was originally a DJ from Tottenham-based grime collective Meridian Crew. Early in his career, Skepta released a number of instrumentals, the most notable being "DTI (Pirate Station Anthem)" and "Private Caller", the latter of which was released as a single and vocaled by various other members of Meridian Crew. Skepta began MCing shortly before Meridian Crew disbanded in 2005, after which Skepta, alongside his brother Jme, joined Roll Deep for a short period of time before becoming founding members of Boy Better Know in 2006.

Skepta shows that mainstream success and underground authenticity don’t have to be mutually exclusive. He embodies the confident swagger of a UK scene that knows how to innovate without betraying its roots or diluting its sound. Here’s 10 of Skepta’s best tracks. 10. Rolex Sweep (Vandalism Mix). It shit really cos i know how certain peeps feel. like I was buying these tunes when they come out and a few got missed or got ruined, now we grime vetrens can't even replace them. Not to brag but it was us older lot who made sure the records were made via demand and bought via shops TRAVELING.... we kept small money in the producers pockets so they would push out tune after tune on a weekly basis. I was there from the start yet i would never take the piss the way some are (ive sold mint autographed grime records). Do u think the producers who made these tunes would agree with £500? (ask spooky). These tunes were made by small time poor folk usually in bedrooms who had love for the music and wanted to please people like ME not middle men money makers lol. I'd rather THEY GOT £500 Then A seller. Ps My Michael Jackson - Bad (album) went to the concert in Wembley in 1988 does that mean i can charge £1000 as hes dead and I was there lol???? DONT PAY THAT, FORCE SELLERS to reduce prices by NOT paying HIGH P'z or just mailing them with a reasonable offer where they can be happy and so can the buyer.... DjKrisFaith U just push other sellers to take the piss :(

I want to make something completely clear. I'm not some money grabbing hipster that brought a box of vinyl from car boot. I was there from the start, first in every line at the record store all around the uk (mainly london), just to get these tracks. I shut down raves, played on pirate radio and made an endless amount of mixtapes with my crew back in the day. I went to all the sidewinders, brought the tape packs and experienced a few raves at the legendary "sanctuary" (v7 saxon street MK) before it was demolished. If I was selfish i wouldn't have listed them at all, but the price I list my vinyls at are for sentimental reasons i.e what these vinyl mean to me. Shame on the other sellers that have no affiliation with the grime scene and are purely out to make money.
