It is the soundtrack album to a 1966 film featuring Herman's Hermits and Shelley Fabares, Hold On! The producers had recruited Fred Karger, a Hollywood composer who had served as music director of the group's previous movie, When the Boys Meet the Girls, to write the songs for the movie.

Ded Engine was a band from Detroit whose sound was once described as an "Americanized Judas Priest". I would both agree and partially disagree. They've certainly got some catchy stuff on this album "Hold a Grudge", which was their last effort (at least in the 80's, for the band has never officially split up).
