This is James Brown at his best. The band, the aura and the soul of James Brown will leave an ever-lasting affect. I am just sorry I wasn't there to see it, but I eventually saw James Brown in concert and until this day there is no entertainer could beat this soul legend. Brown was, and is, a stern perfectionist, known for firing musicians who arrived at rehearsals late. As satisfying as these up-tempo numbers are, it's the ballads that are most interesting, and most instructive. Try Me, I Don't Mind, and nearly 11:00 of Lost Someone, provide JB with room to get all the way down. Perhaps the best James Brown album around and it's live!! My goodness this is the hardest working man in show business and you must not miss his best album. Being live at the Apollo - the audience becomes a big part of this album.
