Cahoots is the fourth studio album by Canadian/American rock group the Band. The album's front cover was painted by New York artist/illustrator Gilbert Stone, while the back cover features a photograph portrait of the group by Richard Avedon. The album features guest vocals from Van Morrison. Rick Danko - bass guitar, vocals. Levon Helm - drums, mandolin, guitar, vocals.

The Band's tight-knit relationship had begun to deteriorate and they were now recording in a full studio, having only to come in when their musicianship was required. All these factors are what made Cahoots an altogether weaker and less popular album than it's predecessors. 1) Life Is A Carnival Cahoots begins with a bang in the form of Life Is A Carnival, a funky rocker that remained a concert staple for The Band until The Last Waltz

1. Life Is a Carnival. 2. When I Paint My Masterpiece. 3. Last of the Blacksmiths. 4. Where Do We Go from Here ? 5. 4% Pantomime. 6. Shoot Out in Chinatown. 7. The Moon Struck One. 8. Thinkin' Out Loud. Bonustrack (Re-Issue 2000).

Cahoots may refer to: Cahoots (album), the fourth LP by Canadian-American rock group The Band. Cahoots (film), a 2001 movie directed by Dirk Benedict and starring David Keith. Life is a Carnival" is the opening track of the Band's fourth album, Cahoots. Written by Rick Danko, Levon Helm, and Robbie Robertson, the song features horn arrangements by New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint. The song is the only track from the Cahoots album included on the original releases of Rock of Ages and The Last Waltz

11 Side one. 12 Side two. 13 2000 reissue bonus tracks.

Listen free to The Band – Cahoots (Life Is A Carnival, When I Paint My Masterpiece and more). In comparison to its predecessors, Cahoots, the Band's fourth album, may be characterized as an essentially minor effort that nevertheless contains a few small pleasures. These pleasures begin with the leadoff track, "Life Is a Carnival," a song that continues the theme of Stage Fright by emphasizing the false nature of show business and its impact on reality.

Last of the Blacksmiths, 03:41.
