Released 18th September 2015. King Midas Sound is comprised of Kevin Martin (also known for his work under The Bug moniker), singer/poet Roger Robinson, and vocalist Kiki Hitomi. His 2001 album Endless Summer was a swirling mix of electric tonal guitars and sweeping emotional shifts which inspired and sparked an admiration within Kevin and Roger to bring him onboard.

King Midas Sound - Solitude "I can see the lonely in my face," Roger Robinson says with disgust on "The Lonely. His words drip with self-loathing, his distinct baritone curling into a sneer. When you get this age with no significant other, people treat you like a bad rash. He intones over a creeping string motif from Kevin Martin, AKA The Bug, whose backdrops follow Robinson like a permanently dark cloud.

King Midas Sound’s fourth album feels like a plunge into the abyss. Without exaggeration, it is one of the bleakest testaments to heartbreak in the annals of recorded sound. Its atmosphere resembles that of a collapsed star-black, isolated, unfathomably dense. But Solitude goes further still. Martin’s production here has the quality of dry ice, a pale fog disturbed only by the rudiments of rhythm-the clack of a wood block, or the dull crack of a snare.
