sbjarnarblús (English: "Polar Bear Blues") was the debut solo record released by Icelandic songwriter Bubbi Morthens. The album was released on June 17, 1980 in co-operation with Bókaútgáfan Iðunn. Within three days, the record went to second place on DV best-sellers list and it was on Iceland's top 10 best-selling records list for 5 weeks.

Bubbi – Ísbjarnarblús. It’s undeniable: Blues-rock revivalism has a very captivating energy when done by the right people at the right time, and Bubbi Morthens was undeniably that. A bitter, opinionated youth and visionary musician in a stagnant, short-sighted society whose creativity was grinding to an agonising halt, he made this, his most essential album, in 1980, exposing a generation fallen through the cracks. Cocksure, decisive and surprisingly crisp, even by today’s standards, it sneers just as contemptuously as it did 25 years ago (at least I’m guessing it did – it’s my senior by six years).
