Bob Welch is the fifth solo album from the ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist of the same name. It was his first for RCA Records. The album has since been reissued on CD by BMG Japan (in 2001) and in 2012 by Wounded Bird Records. When asked in an interview to promote his Bob Welch Looks at Bop album, Welch was asked if there were any songs he disliked recording, and Welch described one from this album.
Head West is a music album released in 1970 by the American band Head West, who were based in Paris, France. The band are best known today for their vocalist, guitarist Bob Welch, who went on to join Fleetwood Mac in 1971. Singles were also released but with little success.
He joined the soul band The Seven Souls in 1964, then moved to Paris, where he formed Head West in 1969. The trio recorded one single album and a single, but stay without success. In 1971 he was invited to join Fleetwood Mac. After several album recordings and tours, he left in Dec. 1974. Once again he formed a trio, called Paris (19) this time. Second try, two albums here. In 1976 he released his first solo album.
Kanye West called them "white crunk music," Lil Wayne covered "This Fire" and the band has kept girls dancing all decade long. Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs of the Aughts: Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out". In Europe and Latin America, Manu Chao has long been a rock god on the scale of Bob Marley. it took this 2001 gem to give music lovers a taste of his wild-ass greatness.

The late Bob Welch's fifth solo album was recorded somewhat under duress. He admitted in a 1999 interview that he wouldn't have chosen the songs on the album that, ultimately, appeared on them but did so to appease his new label. For an album that began under such circumstances, it's surprisingly good. His recent passing just reminded me how talented he was and what a shame it is that he didn't get the commercial success he deserved despite a lot of effort and creativity.
