The Brandenburg Concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 1046–1051, original title: Six Concerts à plusieurs instruments) are a collection of six instrumental works presented by Bach to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721 (though probably composed earlier). They are widely regarded as some of the best orchestral compositions of the Baroque era.

In summer 1945, he founded the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the ensemble he became identified with in much the way Karajan would be with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He quickly built the orchestra up from modest resources in the postwar era, so that by the late-'40s, they were making their first important tours abroad.

The Brandenburg Concertos consist of six concerti grossi, in which Bach deploys the instruments from the baroque orchestra in different, often audacious constellations. Against this backdrop, De Keersmaeker sets sixteen dancers originating in different Rosas generations. Following the premiere of Mitten wir im Leben n De Keersmaeker approaches, as in Vortex Temporum (2013), Bach’s music as if it were a ready-made score for a dance piece, embodying Bach's polyphonic mastery. The concertos are played live by the baroque ensemble B'Rock

Brandenburg Concertos No. -6. Prior to the microphone construction, the idea arose of selecting a special arrangement for each of the six Brandenburg Concertos in accordance with their scores. Despite the chosen locales excess reverberation, the recording was immediately convincing. "This is the high end in 2001"", as Stereoplay concluded. The chosen tempi of Benjamin Hudson, the solos by Reinhold Friedrich (trumpet), the whole swing of this music and the multi-channel sound keeps the listener enrapt. Performer: Reinhold Friedrich, Robert Aldwinckle, Benjamin Hudson.
