The Blue Aeroplanes - Swagger flac album

The Blue Aeroplanes are an English rock band from Bristol, the mainstays of which have been Gerard Langley, brother John Langley, and dancer Wojtek Dmochowski. All three had previously been members of the new wave "art band" Art Objects from 1978 to 1981. The Blue Aeroplanes first performed under that name at the King Street Art Gallery in Bristol in 1981

The name Blue Aeroplanes comes from the Polish "Niebieske Samoloty" which was originally going to be the name of Wojtek's brother's band. The band feature an ever-changing lineup, which (as of 2016) includes 41 ex-members, a feat only beaten by The Fall. Gerard, John and Wojtek have been the only mainstays since the band's inception, although John left the band between 1990 and 2004 and went on to be drummer for Strangelove during this time.

It may seem like a slightly boastful title, but Swagger is anything but an attitude-laden in-your-face rip, and all the better for it as well. By the time the Aeroplanes decided to take a chance on major-label existence, their combination of poetic ramalama and neo-guitar jangle and shake had been well established, so Swagger was, if anything, merely a polishing of the group's form rather than any radical leap. Gil Norton's production definitely has a pitch towards sounding good on the radio, but Langley's poems are still generally dead set against easy singalong, no matter how.
