The Black Album is an unofficial compilation album of solo material by members of the British rock group the Beatles. It was created by the American actor Ethan Hawke, and became widely known as a result of its inclusion in the 2014 film Boyhood.

Dark Was the Night is the twentieth compilation release benefiting the Red Hot Organization, an international charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV and AIDS. Featuring exclusive recordings by a number of independent artists and production by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, the compilation was released on 16 February 2009 (UK) and 17 February (US) as a double CD, three vinyl LPs, and as a digital download

The Black Album (Prince album). The Black Album is the sixteenth studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on November 22, 1994, by Warner Bros.

The Black Album (Jay-Z album). The Black Album is the eighth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z, released on November 14, 2003, by Roc-A-Fella Records. It was advertised as his final album before retiring, which is also a recurring theme throughout the songs, although Jay-Z resumed his recording career in 2006.

Apparitions manifest Poltergeists and entities Unseen malignant threats They are catching up to me. It was a dark and stormy night Pins and needles down your spine. Shadows are alive with shapes Nameless beasts of long lost lore The forest stirs ready to pounce Feel the darkness at your door. Ethereal revenants Phantasms and deities Bloodthirsty spawns of hell Try to get their claws in me. Dead eyes They stare From out beyond the trees The sound It stings Like a nest of angry bees. There is this longing for blood That I am trying to quench There is this yearning for pain That is forever entrenched There is this spot on my soul And it will never come clean There is this flaw in my brain That is far from serene. There goes Dr. Sawbones Readying his instruments Making sure they’re razor sharp They have dark deeds to dispense.

One night, Thorgerson showed Powell a black-and-white photograph of a prism with a color beam projected through it - an image he’d also noticed in a physics textbook. After graphic designer George Hardie provided his expertise, Hipgnosis presented the prism design along with some others ideas to the band (including a design that featured the Marvel Comics hero the Silver Surfer). The band approved prism concept almost immediately. When the album was released, it was an immediate commercial and critical success (even though the band went out of its way not to promote it), and a happy marriage of acclaimed music and memorable artwork. The covers made for brilliant images to display in record store windows. The prisms adorning the front and back inspired record stores to display copies of the albums in various combinations, such as images of repeating prisms interlocking.

Produced by Creature Feature. These hands, they shake I swear I must be cursed This brain, it aches Any moment it might burst. The first track of Creature Feature’s second album It Was a Dark and Stormy Nigh. s a fast-paced song describing the panic and fear of someone who believes he is the imminent prey of monsters lurking all around him in, you guessed it, a dark and stormy night. The phase it was a dark and stormy night is an old but famous opening line to a story created by Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1830. Written By Creature Feature. Recorded At Los Angeles. Release Date October 28, 2011.

To date, "The Black Album" has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. In 2014, it became the first record to sell over 16 million copies since SoundScan started charting record sales in 1991. In addition, the disc has spent the most weeks, 307, on the Billboard 200 chart during the SoundScan era. That makes it the ng studio album behind Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Carole King’s Tapestry. And according to Billboard, as of February 2014, the record was selling an average of two to three thousand copies per week. Loudwire contributor Jon Wiederhorn is the.
