High Noon is the third full-length studio album by Canadian rock band Arkells. It was announced on May 13, 2014 that the album would be released on August 5, 2014. The album sold 5,200 copies in its first week and debuted at on the Canadian Albums Chart. It is the band's highest position on that chart in their history. By September 2015, High Noon had sold over 40,000 copies and was certified a Gold Record. The album is a longlisted nominee for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize.

Their new album, High Noon, was written in Hamilton and produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, M83). These collection of songs are the band’s most unabashed effort yet – politically charged, heart on your sleeve lyrics combined with adventurously modern and throwback production stylings. Arkells' debut album Jackson Square was released 28 October 2008 on Dine Alone Records. In late 2008, Arkells toured Canada as opening act for Matt Mays & El Torpedo. Later that year, on November 22, they performed the halftime show at the Vanier Cup in their hometown. In early 2009 they toured with Waking Eyes across Canada. Arkells were featured. One month later, on May 13, the band released the album's first single "Come to Light", and confirmed the title of the record would be High Noon Arkells have toured extensively, including tours in the United States with Lights, Tokyo Police Club, The Postelles, X Ambassadors, and Lydia; European touring with Billy Talent, Augustines, British Sea Power, and Anti-Flag as well as Canadian touring with Metric, the Tragically Hip, Hollerado, and Sam Roberts.

Still, High Noon is a fairly exceptional album, particularly as it doesn't have a bonafide Canadian sound while not necessarily making market concessions to the States or a worldwide audience. Arkells seem to exist solely on a plateau of their own, and that's what makes them so darn special. Who knows? Perhaps with just the right amount of luck, and with the right radio push, this band might no longer just be collecting Juno Awards and other accolades, but may have a Grammy or two (or three) to put on their mantle.
