La Biennale di Venezia was founded in 1895 and it is now one of the most famous and prestigious cultural organizations in the world. May you live in interesting times.

About la biennale DI venezia.

The Art Biennale, a contemporary visual art exhibition and so called because it is held biennially (in odd-numbered years), is the original biennale on which others in the world have been modeled. The first Biennale, "I Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte della Città di Venezia (1st International Art Exhibition of the City of Venice)" (although originally scheduled for April 22, 1894) was opened on April 30, 1895 by the Italian King and Queen, Umberto I and Margherita di Savoia. The first exhibition was seen by 224,000 visitors. In 1999 a new sector was created for live shows: DMT (Dance Music Theatre).

La Biennale di Venezia was founded in 1895. Paolo Baratta has been its President since 2008, and before that from 1998 to 2001  . The Biennale Architettura has also been recognised as the best in the world. The Venice International Film Festival at the Lido (the oldest in the world dating to 1932) has remained a prestigious event worldwide due to the quality of its selection and the recent refurbishing of its historic buildings and technological supplies. The relationship with the local community has been strengthened through Educational activities and guided visits, with the participation of a growing number of schools from the Veneto region and beyond.

The 58th International Art Exhibition will not have a theme per se, but will highlight a general approach to making art and a view of art’s social function as embracing both pleasure and critical thinking. Golden Lion for the Best Participant in the International Exhibition May You Live In Interesting Times to Arthur Jafa for his 2019 film The White Album (venue: Central Pavilion, Giardini), which, in equal measure, is an essay, a poem and portraiture. Jafa uses appropriated and original footage to reflect upon the issue of race.

Place: Dutch pavilion in the Giardini di Castello, Venice, Italy Scope of work: design for the Dutch Pavilion of the Architecture Biennale in Venice Date: August – November 2012. The Netherlands Architecture Institute invited Inside Outside to design the Dutch submission. With the exhibition Re-Set Inside Outside responds to the vacant architecture in the Netherlands.
