Live In San Francisco - EP 2016. See All. Live Albums. About Feral Ohms. Oakland, California's Feral Ohms play raw, primal, high-speed rock & roll equally influenced by '70s hard rock, punk, and Japanese noise-rock. The band consists of guitarist/vocalist Ethan Miller (Comets on Fire, Howlin Rain), drummer Chris Johnson (Drunk Horse, Sir Lord Von Raven), and bassist Josh Haynes (Nudity). The group formed in 2011, and their first release was 2013's "Living Junkyard 7" on Valley King Records. Five months later, in March 2017, Feral Ohms released their self-titled debut studio album.
Additional acts presumably will be added to that show, but one listen to the song above is probably all of the sales pitch a psych rock fan could require. About the Author: Ben Van Houten.
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Three stalwarts of the California psychedelic scene team up for a pair of Bay Area concerts in San Jose and San Francisco when San Diego riff rockers Radio Moscow are joined by local heroes Glitter Wizard and Feral Ohms. Started in the early 2000s by rumentalist Parker Griggs while still living in the small Iowa town of Story City, Radio Moscow was essentially a one-man project with Griggs playing everything on early recordings, though he eventually recruited collaborators to perform the material live. The guitarist would eventually establish a stable line-up of the power trio and relocate to San Diego where bassist Anthony Meier (who also plays in hard psych band Sacri Monti) and drummer Paul Marrone were based, recording the well-received Magical Dirt in 2014 after some extensive road testing of the songs.
Not only do we have a white-hot set of Feral Ohms’ shaggy guitar heroics captured here direct to ferromagnetic medium for your grokking, it also happens. Not only do we have a white-hot set of Feral Ohms’ shaggy guitar heroics captured here direct to ferromagnetic medium for your grokking, it also happens to be their debut record. From zero to vertical from the get of the set, the ‘Ohms muscle this one out fast and hot, featuring Ethan Miller of recent psych-folk breakouts Heron Oblivion, Howlin Rain, and Comets On Fire giving free rein to his most pyro-psycho-technic guitar fancies, not to mention a full-throated demon-worthy wail as well
