The four track EP includes remixes from Justin Broadrick (of Godflesh, Jesu), Aaron Harris and Bryant Clifford Meyer of ISIS/Palms, and, for only the second time in their fourteen year career, vocals. Allen Epley (Shiner, The Life and Times) once again returns to the band’s fold to transform, in a complementary manner, the concept and overall outcome of what we have come to know as Pelican.

2015's The Cliff EP liberates one of the album's best cuts ("The Cliff") with three "reimaginings," including remixes from Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu), Aaron Harris and Bryant Clifford Meyer (ISIS, Palms), as well as an unprecedented vocal version featuring Allen Epley (Shiner, the Life and Times).

Pelican is a post-metal quartet from Chicago, Illinois. Established in 2001, the band is known for their atmospheric and almost entirely instrumental style. They have released six studio albums and six EPs. The band is known for dense combinations of different melodies and extended track lengths. It may be classified as stoner rock, doom metal, or post-rock. Larry Herweg, Trevor de Brauw, and Laurent Schroeder-Lebec are also three members of the band Tusk.
