In 2013, the great five-disc Stranglers box set The Old Testament: The . Studio Recordings (1977-1982) from 1992 was reissued, featuring most of the group's best albums plus a bunch of drool-worthy bonuses (demos, B-sides, remixes, and other whatnot). This bulky 11-disc set was released just one year after - the excuse being that the band's 40th anniversary must be honored - but the differences are vast, with this one serving a purpose for the hardcore while Old Testament is the clear winner for the more casual listener

The album was another change in musical direction, this time influenced by European music. It was the first Stranglers album to feature acoustic guitars, and it was on this album that Jet Black began to use electronic drum kits. Hugh Cornwell stated, "On La Folie there were three tracks – 'Golden Brown'. La Folie' and 'How to Find True Love and Happiness in the Present Day' – that sort of pointed us away from what we had been doing. Giants was released in 2012, including the first instrumental on an album since "Waltzinblack" on The Gospel According to The Meninblack

It will be titled ‘Giants And Gems: An Album Collection’. Also announced are UK shows from 27th February To 29th March. In celebration of a remarkable band, Parlophone Records and Warner Music are proud to announce a career-spanning box-set from The Stranglers  . THE STRANGLERS – 1974 to 2014 Formed in 1974 as The Guildford Stranglers, the band were initially based in The Jackpot, an off-licence run by their drummer Jet Black.
