Caterina Valente (born 14 January 1931 in Paris, France) is a French-Italian multilingual singer, guitarist, dancer, and actress. While she is best-known as an international performer, Valente also spent part of her career in the United States, where she performed alongside Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Ella Fitzgerald, among others.

Originally issued by RCA in the United States, the concept is simple - Werner Muller and his orchestra plays a classic, then Caterina sings a lighter & version of the piece.
