is the second album by American rock band The Beach Boys. It reached number two in the US, lasting 78 weeks on the albums chart, eventually being certified gold by the RIAA, and brought the group newfound national success. It was led by one single, its title track with the B-side "Shut Down". In the United Kingdom, the album was belatedly released in late 1965, reaching number 17. It was recognized as one of the greatest songs ever released by the The Beach Boys.

Surfin’ USA. The Beach Boys. Produced by Nick Venet. If everybody had an ocean Across the U. S. A Then everybody'd be surfin' Like Californi-a You'd see them wearing their baggies Huarachi sandals too A bushy bushy blond hairdo Surfin' U. A. You'd catch 'em surfin' at Del Mar (Inside, outside, USA) Ventura County line (Inside, outside, USA) Santa Cruz and Trestles (Inside, outside, USA) Australia's Narrabeen (Inside, outside, USA) All over Manhattan (Inside, outside, USA) And down Doheny Way (Inside, outside).

Besides the hit title track and its popular drag-racing flip side ("Shut Down"), this has a lovely, heartbreaking ballad ("Lonely Sea") and a couple of strong Brian Wilson originals ("The Noble Surfer" and "Farmer's Daughter"). There are also a surprisingly high quotient of instrumentals (five) that demonstrate that, before session musicians took over most of the parts, the Beach Boys could play respectably gutsy surf rock as a self-contained unit. Indeed, the album as a whole is the best they would make, prior to the late '60s, as a band that.

Declinin' numbers at an even rateAt the count of one we both accelerateMy Stingray is light, the slicks are startin' to spinBut the four-thirteen's really diggin' in.
