This CD contains pianist Bill Evans' two complete quartet albums with flutists: What's New with Jeremy Steig and Nirvana with Herbie Mann. The pianist would never again record with a flute player in a small band setting. The tracks are: 1. Straight, No Chaser 2. Lover Man 3. What's New 4. Autumn Leaves 5. Time Out For Chris 6. Love Theme From Spartacus 7. So What. There is a marked difference between Jeremy Steig's playing on these tracks and Mann's on the remainder of the album. For one thing Steig is more pensive.
