Kelendria Trene Rowland (born February 11, 1981) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and five-time Grammy award winner who rose to fame as one of the founding members of the very successful R&B girl group Destiny's Child. After a series of commercially successful releases with the group and a worldwide number-one success with rapper Nelly and their Grammy-winning single "Dilemma", Rowland released her debut solo album Simply Deep in 2002.

Rowland began her career in 1997 with one of the best-selling girl groups, Destiny's Child, who have sold around 60 million records worldwide. Rowland Stuart Howard (24 October 1959 – 30 December 2009) was an Australian rock musician, guitarist and songwriter, best known for his work with the post-punk group The Birthday Party and his subsequent solo career. Rowland Stuart Howard wrote "Shivers" at the age of 16 while in the band The Young Charlatans. Howard gained acclaim after joining Melbourne-based band The Boys Next Door, when the song was released as a single.

The seventh season of The Voice began airing on 15 April 2018, although it was originally scheduled to debut on 16 April 2018. The coaching line-up consisted of returning coaches Delta Goodrem, returning for her sixth season, Boy George and Kelly Rowland, both returning for their second, and new addition Joe Jonas, replacing Seal. Sam Perry from Team Kelly won the competition on June 17, 2018, marking Rowland's first win as a coach.

The album will see Rowland returning to her R&B roots. Amongst the confirmed collaborators on the album are Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, The Runners, Wiz Khalifa, T-Minus and Boi-1da, as well as featuring guest vocals from former Destiny's Child bandmates Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams. The album's release was proceeded by the lead single "Kisses Down Low" in February 2013 and the second single "Dirty Laundry", released on May 21, 2013.
