The Stone is the first album by Babble, an electronic dance music group that was composed of Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie (formerly of the Thompson Twins), and Keith Fernley. The group changed its name as it changed the outward appearance of its sound, from pop to dub-influenced chill-out. The underlying melodies and the familiar voices of Bailey and Currie still gave a Thompson Twins tone.

Stone is the debut album from Finnish thrash metal band Stone. It was originally released in 1988, and remastered and re-issued in 2003. It was re-released again in 2009, bundled with No Anaesthesia! in a 2 CD set. Several singles were released from the album. On the 2003 re-release, "The Final Cuntdown" is re-titled "The Final Countdown" (the correct title of the song). It is a parody cover of the Europe song "The Final Countdown".
The Baltimore duo's second album was the perfect deep-toking soundtrack for late-'00s indie kids: a drifty, velveteen set full of homemade charm, gauzy keyboards and hypnotic tunes. When Victoria Legrand repeats her "Oh, oh, oh" refrain on "Gila," it echoes around the brain, just right for times when everything else does too.

Douglas Jackson Brooks (born June 19, 1956), known professionally as Doug Stone, is an American country music singer. He debuted in 1990 with the single "I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box)", the first release from his 1990 self-titled debut album for Epic Records. Both this album and its successor, 1991's I Thought It Was You, earned a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. It features the singles "I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box)", "Fourteen Minutes Old", "In a Different Light", and "These Lips Don't Know How to Say Goodbye", all of which charted in the Top Ten on the Billboard country charts. In a Different Light" was Stone's first Number One on that chart.
This self-titled set was originally independently released by Stone in 2011 (an earlier self-released album, Last to Speak, appeared in 2010) and then picked up and given a national release by artist-friendly label ATO Records in 2012. It showcases this talented singer, although one really has to see him live to completely get him - he doesn't look like he could possibly sing like that.
