Paris" is the second single by Friendly Fires taken from the band's self-titled debut album Friendly Fires. The song features backing vocals from the members of the American indie pop trio Au Revoir Simone, and samples the song "Sun and Ice" from the album From Here We Go Sublime by The Field. The Aeroplane remix of the song features the members of Au Revoir Simone on lead vocals. In October 2011, NME placed it at number 47 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years".

Friendly Fires is the debut album from British band Friendly Fires. It was released in the UK on 1 September 2008 where it reached a peak of number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. All tracks were produced by Ed Macfarlane apart from the first track, "Jump in the Pool", which was produced by Paul Epworth

Fancy a remix that is actually more like a cover, and surpassing the original? Fancy a sultry female voice (Au Revoir Simone's) replacing the initial laddish male chant? Fancy some time-travel music machine stuck exactly between the early 90s golden age of UK rave-synthpop (the first half of the "remix", directly connecting to Saint-Etienne circa '90-'91 ; the better bits of Creation's legendary "Keeping The Faith" compilation ie Hypnotone, Fluke et al ; or Marina Van Rooy's mighty "Sly One") and the mid-00s progressive indie-trance (the second half, reminiscent of Kompakt or Border Community's hands-in-the-air digital saturation around 2005).Well you can find all this and a lot more in Aeroplane's wonderful take on Friendly Fire's "Paris", one of the genius girl-dance songs of the 00's era that balances between detachment, emotion and grandeur, like a carefree chic, cute and Cristal-drunk Parisian girl poppin bonbons while dancing and dreaming and watching the city lights from a party on 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
