Matti ja Teppo is a duo formed by brothers Matti Ruohonen (born August 8, 1949 in Turku, Finland) and Teppo Ruohonen (born March 1, 1948, Turku, Finland). They have performed together since childhood. Their first album was released in 1972, and in 1975 they founded their own label, M & T Production. They have also another brother, Seppo Ruohonen, who is a tenor. Members: Matti Ruohonen, Teppo Ruohonen.

The duo studied violin and piano in their hometown Turku. Matti also studied guitar and songwriting, whereas Teppo became a lyricist. In 1972, the duo released their debut album, the self-titled album Matti ja Teppo

From there, Matti ja Teppo would go on to release nearly 30 albums and nine compilations of their work, as well as becoming a bit of an institution in their native Finland. Early on, they also formed their own record company, called M&R Productions. In 2004, the duo released its 35th anniversary collection, in addition to that year's holiday collection, Christmas Time. The pair continued its successes into 2008, with that year's Satoi Tai Paistoi peaking at number seven on the Finnish album charts.
