Kent - Hagnesta Hill flac album

In 1999, Kent released Hagnesta Hill, named after Hagnestahill, a part of Eskilstuna where the band had had their first studio. The first, pre-release single, "Musik non stop" (Music Non Stop), a disco-rock song, became a huge radio hit and helped bring recognition for this album. The album was, for the most part, faster and less ballad-focused than Isola, and also mildly experimental with drum-machines and electronics. The singer and songwriter of Kent, Jocke Berg, later complained that he thought the album was too long (thirteen songs spread over one hour)

At times, Hagnesta Hill is just what the band needed to halt such a problem. From the lead-off tracks - the rousing, undulating "The King Is Dead" or the loud banging "Revolt III" - the outright despondency the band had been beating to death seems to be a thing of the past. Hagnesta Hill continues Kent's dynamic duality of power pop and ethereal ballads, as found on the previous album Isola, but infuse hooky, tasteful guitar work; enhanced grooviness; more pronounced and beautiful vocal harmonies; and more innovative sound elements and textures. It sounds more produced than Isola but also more experimental. Of the one's I purchased, I find myself listening to Hagnesta Hill often. If you like atmospheric, melancholic rock bands, Kent is very good. They remind me a lot of England's "House of Love" but they are very unique.
