The album was originally recorded in 2006 while the band were still a part of the Virgin Records roster; they left the label in early 2007 and shelved the record. It was then scheduled for release in 2008 via Paper + Plastick but was delayed again

Here I Am" is a single by the band The Explosion, released as the first single from their 2004 album Black Tape on June 7, 2005. The music video features Smith Puget, brother of Jade Puget of the band AFI. The song reached the 37th position in the US chart and 71st in the UK single album list. The song has been featured in the soundtracks of the Burnout 3 racing video game and Tony Hawk's Underground 2. An instrumental version of the song was featured in the Cars video game.
