Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll is an album by Chuck Berry and soundtrack to the film of the same name, which was released in 1987 under record label, MCA. The album was recorded live at The Fox Theatre, St Louis, Missouri and Berry Park, Wentzville, Missouri on October 6 and October 16, 1986. The event was held to celebrate Berry's 60th birthday and it included several special guests.

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle is the soundtrack album of the film of the same name by the Sex Pistols. By the time the soundtrack was being prepared, Johnny Rotten (Lydon) had left the band and refused to participate in the project, so the "proper" Sex Pistols tracks were done by taking Lydon's vocals from the October 1976 demo session recordings and rerecording their instrumental tracks (done by Paul Cook and Steve Jones).

Rock 'N' Roll even has its roots in the record the Beatles made after they recorded most of Let It Be. Lennon borrowed and altered a line from Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me" for his Abbey Road song "Come Together," the "Here come old flat-top " one – which got Berry's music publisher, Morris Levy, and his legal team scrambling for some sort of retribution. It's also a final chance to hear one of rock's greatest figures coming to terms with his Beatles past on an album his old band probably would have made had they stuck around a while longer.

It’s a rock ‘n’ roll album because it’s so goddamn violent. At its simplest level the album deals with the psychosis of being in a rock ‘n’ roll band and having made it as a star - and it does that better than the Who’s opus devoted exclusively to that subject, Quadrophenia. I know you think life is a thriller You play the vamp, I’ll play the killer Now, baby, what’s the use of fighting By the last reel we’ll be crying. He leaves the lovers in a horrible, hopeless quagmire of their own making. If You Really Want to Be My Friend is a tough ballad; Till the Next Goodbye is almost poignant. So It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll‘s consistency comes as a real surprise, especially after the occasional lameness of Goats Head Soup. Jagger justifies the loud mixing of his voice by singing almost everything to perfection and reaches a pinnacle on the title track and If You Really Want to Be My Friend.

I Love Rock 'n Roll is the second studio album by Joan Jett and the first with her backing band The Blackhearts. Soon after the first recording sessions at Soundworks Studios, original Blackheart guitarist Eric Ambel was replaced by Ricky Byrd. It is Jett's most commercially successful album to date with over 10 million copies sold, largely due to the success of the title track, which was released as a single soon after the album was released.
