In the US, it was her fourth album licensed to Warner Bros. After the single release of "A Sign of the Times" charted, new pressings of the album were titled A Sign of the Times/My Love.

According to the January 28, 1961 issue of Melody Maker, Petula Clark "created a new 'record' by becoming the first British female vocalist to shoot so high in the charts on the first entry". The song entered the Melody Maker hit parade at number 7 (not the official UK chart) claiming over a hundred thousand sales.
