Whipping Post" is a song by The Allman Brothers Band. Written by Gregg Allman, the five-minute studio version first appeared on their 1969 debut album The Allman Brothers Band. The song was regularly played live and was the basis for much longer and more intense performances. This was captured in the Allman Brothers' 1971 double live album At Fillmore East, where a 22-minute rendition of the song takes up the entire final side

Taste the Whip test presses were delivered to a neighbour who was never in or refused to answer, and this is the nearest we got to them for a while. We now have them (no break and entry involved) and they've been rejected due to manufacturing errors. 12 November 2017 ·. Tomorrow in Leeds. Whipping Post updated their cover photo.

Whipping Post" is a song by The Allman Brothers Band. The original "Whipping Post" was recorded for The Allman Brothers Band album on August 7, 1969, at Atlantic Recording Studios in New York City. Adrian Barber was the producer, and the band spent the entire full-day session getting the song's performance to their liking. The album was released on November 4, 1969, but sold poorly, barely reaching the bottom.

That latest article on the whipping post ? full of passion and imagination, quite unlike your usual dull little offerings. Emma jerked as though stung, and her wrists strained against the rope. How dare you!" she said coldly. Big mistake; the third tomato hit her smack in the mouth, and she was forced to taste the rottenness; some shot to the back of her mouth and down her throat. You bastard!" she croaked, spluttering and retching. Bastard, am I?" he declared smoothly. This is a genuine fourteenth-century whip designated for use at this very whipping post," she announced, "good sturdy technology of its day!" And with that she raised the whip in the air, swung it round a couple of times and brought it down, with a whistle and a crack like a firework, on the man's bare back He gave an audible gasp, as did several of the audience. But she ignored him and, instead, examined the whip for signs of damage.

The stocks and whipping-post are still there, but not as complete. Now, I’ve seen lots of photos of whipping posts – but never one that’s so evocative of the era in which they were actually put to use. I can just picture a maid, tied to the post, looking out over the duck pond as she was lashed in front of the watching crowd for stealing butter from her master’s kitchen. The prominence of the apparatus, bang in the centre of the village, also got me thinking
