Claude Bolling (born 10 April 1930), is a French jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and occasional actor. He was born in Cannes, studied at the Nice Conservatory, then in Paris. A child prodigy, by age 14 he was playing jazz piano professionally, with Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, and Kenny Clarke. Bolling's books on jazz technique show that he did not delve far beyond bebop into much avant-garde jazz. Companies, etc. Printed By – Imprimerie Schneider Frères & Mary. Claude Bolling, Pinchas Zukerman. Claude Bolling: Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano Trio. This time, Bolling chooses mostly classical dance forms for his eight movements, still inserting mostly mainstream jazz segments (and a few vintage ones) around and under his soloist without getting him involved. Although he isn't asked to play jazz, Zukerman's warm, d virtuosity doesn't betray even a hint of feeling for it; that makes Bolling's close-knit merger even more remarkable. On "Tango," the compulsively restless Zukerman switches to viola; elsewhere he sticks to the violin
