In Secrecy's case, their sound is basically a 50/50 mixture of Cannibal Corpse and Vital Remains, which is actually not as cringe-inducing as it sounds. I don't think Secrecy was a band formed to exactly take the death metal world by storm, and honestly I doubt that these guys had more than one album in them anyway, so I'm just going to take this for what it is: solid, pretty fun, brief, and to the point death metal that basically does everything a death metal album. Secrecy keeps a good blend of more oldschool, somewhat thrashy death metal influence alongside a streamlined, modern sense of songwriting, which keeps things tense and aggressive without seeming dated. It's all about the riffs, really, though the grunting vocals and energetic drumming definitely help out.
