But their former bass player Matt had to throw in the towel to focus on getting hitched and educated. I guess he thought happiness was more important than low down rock n roll! They wish him a good life and are super proud of him. That being said, they decided to continue as planned.

As their jobs as code talkers and more importantly code-developers, were protected information, not declassified until 1968, the soldiers had to present themselves as very ordinary infantrymen rather than dedicated specialists which would have got them much better jobs, in fact it might have got them jobs. Code Talker is the biography of Navajo code talker, Chester Nez. Chester was one of the original Marine Code Talkers and he wrote a fairly interesting biography. I hadn’t realized just how important the Navajo code was to the Pacific War. Prior to the Navajo code, the Marines used a cumbersome code that took 4 hours to transmit, decode, and disseminate and the Japanese could break it.

Code Talker was an elderly Diné (Navajo) biologist who specialized in parasitology that Venom Snake encountered during the 1980s.

Code talkers served with all six Marine divisions in the Pacific and with Marine Raider and parachute units, earning lavish praise for their performance in the Solomons and the Marianas and on Peleliu and Iwo Jima. Of Iwo Jima, Fifth Marine Division Signal Officer Major Howard Conner said, The entire operation was directed by Navajo code. During the two days that followed the initial landings I had six Navajo radio nets working around the clock.
