Friedrich "Fritz" Karl Otto Wunderlich (26 September 1930 – 17 September 1966) was a German lyric tenor, famed for his singing of the Mozart repertory and various lieder. He died in an accident when he was only 35. Wunderlich was born in Kusel in the Palatinate, Germany. His mother was a violinist and his father was a choirmaster. For a short time, the family kept the inn "Emrichs Bräustübl" (Emrich's Brewing Cottage)

For the 2018/19 season, the Lucerne Festival Strings are presenting its own concert series at Lucerne KKL and being invited to Lucerne Festival. Being on tour the orchestra is heading for Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie twice, as well as to Berlin, to Vienna and to Bologna. The list of soloists includes Ray Chen, Arabella Steinbacher, Jan Lisiecki, Kit Armstrong and Alban Gerhardt.
