Bye Bye Blackbird is a 1993 jazz album by Keith Jarrett's "Standards Trio". It was recorded in 1991 in tribute to Miles Davis, who had died two weeks earlier. It was released on the ECM label only in 1993, as ECM 1467. As in other works by the Keith Jarrett Trio, this is an album mostly consisting of jazz standards. There are, however, two tracks written (or improvised) by the trio for the occasion, as a homage to Davis: "For Miles" and "Blackbird, Bye Bye".
Read or print original Bye Bye Blackbird lyrics 2019 updated! Pack up all my care and woe, Here I go, singing low, Bye-bye, blackbird. After a tumultuous adolescence, Fitzgerald found stability in musical success with the Chick Webb Orchestra, performing across the country but most often associated with the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem. Fitzgerald's rendition of the nursery rhyme "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" helped boost both her and Webb to national fame. After taking over the band when Webb died, Fitzgerald left it behind in 1942 to start her solo career. Here I go, sing a little bye, blackbird Where somebody waits for me Sugar's sweet and so is he Bye, blackbird. No one here can love and understand me Oh, what hard-luck stories they all hand me You'd better make my bed And light the light, I'll arrive late tonight Blackbird, bye-bye, goodbye.
