Uomini Umili Popoli Liberi is a very good and versatile album in the tradition of Italian 70's Prog and Art Rock being more rocking in its first half and more mellow in its second one. A very good recommendation for all lovers of Italian Prog but not sure whether it's an esential one in prog general. ENEIDE released just one album (surprise) but opened for some Prog heavy-weights back in the da. he organ, flute and drums are all impressive but the big negative for me are the vocals. They are very rough sounding and I can't get used to them so they really take away from my enjoyment of this album at times.

Eneide, a five-piece set from Padova, started off as Eneide Pop back in 1970. The boys, still in their teens, were signed by Trident after a successful supporting act for Van der Graaf Generator and an album was recorded and scheduled for release in 1972. For some reason, however, it never came out. The band kept the tapes and finally released it in LP format on their own label in '90 (in a very limited pressing, hence its current high price)  . An album was scheduled for release and recorded in late 1972, but was never issued. The LP was only released in the first nineties both on vinyl and CD in a limited pressing and has been out of print for many years now. It's a very good album, with ten short songs with little instrumental parts but competent playing, especially when the solo instruments (especially organ, guitar and flute) are given a leading role, like in the longest track on the album, "Non voglio catene", or "Ecce omo" and the instrumental "Oppressione e disperazione".
