It was released on 3 October 2005 by London Records. The two-disc compilation includes the band's singles released between 1981 and 2005. Unlike the CD version of earlier singles compilation Substance 1987, the B-sides are not included.
The album-oriented Rock Way is suspicious of singles: It's cool if a band writes something easy-to-like by accident, but to sit down and do it intentionally would be, like, crass and commercial.
Профиль: Formed 1980 in Manchester, United Kingdom shortly after the suicide of Ian Curtis (Joy Division, Warsaw) Members : Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Peter Hook (bass, keyboards, 1980–2010), Stephen Morris (drums, keyboards), Gillian Gilbert (keyboards, guitar, 1981–2001, 2011–present), Phil Cunningham (guitar, keyboards, 2001–present), Tom Chapman (2) (bass, 2011–present).
版公司 Rhino Records London Recordings. Disc 1. 1. Ceremony (7" Version). Waiting for the Sirens' Call.
The song and its B-side, "In a Lonely Place", were written and recorded as Joy Division prior to the death of Ian Curtis.
A decade after its initial release, SINGLES has been refined to become a greatly improved representation of the band's history
Blue Monday" went on to become the best-selling 12" release of all time, moving over three million copies worldwide.
In 1990 the group recorded the English World Cup Football Anthem World in Motion, following which the band took an extended hiatus. Following a period of uncertainty in which Sumner recorded a second Electronic LP and Hook formed the band Monaco, the band release the single Brutal which was later used on the soundtrack to the 2000 film The Beach. The studio album Get Ready appeared later in 2000, followed by extensive touring, and Waiting for the Sirens’ Call in 2005.

This compilation is supposed to contain the 7" or edit versions (where available) but there are a few mistakes.
Track 1-8 is the regular album version & not the UK 7" mix which is still unavailable on CD officially.
Track 1-12 is the Brotherhood album version and not the Shep Pettibone single mix.
Track 1-13 is the full 12" version, not the 7" edit.
Track 1-14 is a new edit (not remixed by Arthur Baker) of the original version found on the B-Side of True Faith. This Song was not released as an A-Side until 1995 (after "Spooky"). The artwork in the booklet also shows the 95 single release.
Track 2-4 is the album version of Run and not "Run 2".
Track 2-16 is an edit of the album version which is unique to this compilation.
