An album is a collection of audio recordings issued as a collection on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium. Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78-rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl LP records played at 33 1⁄3 rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats.

And when I try to refresh the artist info, I get a prompt asking me to enter the artists name. I haven't had a chance to test if this worked yet, however it was a bit of an oddity

This isn't foolproof, but should work on most systems, as long as the Quick Look generator for audio files uses the album art if present. answered Sep 25 '10 at 21:07. Peter HoseyPeter Hosey.
The album artist is designated to attempt to keep all songs in an album together when there is more than one artist on an album. For example on a soundtrack where every artist is different you might decided to call the album artist "Various artists". In the case of a album with guests artists where each song is a duet and you might name each artist Johnny Cash &
