Four Year Strong was formed in Worcester, Massachusetts, in 2001 by current members Dan O'Connor, Alan Day, Jake Massucco, and Joe Weiss. Dan O'Connor, Alan Day and Jake Massucco all attended Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester and met through mutual friends. Not long after their formation, they released a demo EP titled All The Lonely Girls. On November 9, 2016 the band announced a 10th Anniversary World Tour for their album Rise or Die Trying in which they played the album in its entirety for every tour date

Both singers are in the higher range, and sing about anything (but mostly girls, although I don't think FYS is trying to appeal to 13 year old teenyboppers). Dan's voice suits the band well, but alas, draws too many comparisons to Fall Out Boy. I'm sure they could have found a more original vocalist. I would have liked this album more if it had more screaming (the only screaming on the album was done by ex-BYD vocalist Mat Bruso, on 'Prepare To Be Digitally Manupulated'), although the gang vocal parts make up for that loss. They should have had better use of keyboard parts (instead of lead, why not try some strings, or possible a piano interlude? ), and more usage, too. For fans of: Set Your Goals, Fall Out Boy, Hellogoodbye, and possibly A Day To Remember.

Their demo is 2005 achieved my highest expectations, but this album has just outdone that a million times over. Basically, you can hear how talented they are just from the 30 second clips. It would be a sin not to purchase this whole album. Their style is unbeatable. More By Four Year Strong.
