Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Spawned by earlier group The Id, the outfit is composed of co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals), along with Martin Cooper (various instruments) and Stuart Kershaw (drums); McCluskey is the only constant member

This album was written, recorded and performed for and on behalf of White Noise Ltd. The Pacific Age is a digital recording. Recorded at Studio De La Grande Armée, Paris. Mixed at Studio De La Grande Armée, Paris. Mastered at Tape One, London. Printed in Western Germany by TOPAC, Gesellschaft für Tonträger-Verpackung mbH, Gütersloh.

The Pacific Age is the last OMD album to feature founding member Paul Humphreys (although The Best of OMD does collect a pair of subsequent singles). With producer Stephen Hague returning and guests Graham and Martin Weir elevated to full-time members, OMD aggressively targets the American pop market cultivated with Crush and the Top Ten single "If You Leave. With the Weir's horns and a trio of female backing vocalists, the music on The Pacific Age sounds larger than life (the opening "Stay" in particular), a trait common to popular music in the mid-'80s

Shame (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark song). Shame" is a song by British band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark released as the third single taken from their 1986 album, The Pacific Age, although it is a re-recording made after the album's release, presumably in early 1987, and was produced by Rhett Davies (as opposed to the original album version which was produced by Stephen Hague).
