The Texas Longhorn is a breed of cattle known for its characteristic horns, which can extend to over 70 inches (. m) tip to tip for bulls, and up to 100 inches (. 4 m) tip to tip for steers and exceptional cows. They are descendants of the first cattle in the New World, brought by Christopher Columbus and the Spanish colonists, and have a high drought-stress tolerance

The Longhorn Band is one of the greatest traditions of The University of Texas, particularly those surrounding the Texas football gameday experience. The band performs at all University of Texas football games, including a smaller pep band for out-of-state trips. You can also see LHB at pep rallies, parades, and additional guest appearances. Past events include an international tour to South America in 1972, inaugural parades of Presidents John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and George W.
