Bend Sinister is a dystopian novel written by Vladimir Nabokov during the years 1945 and 1946, and published by Henry Holt and Company in 1947. A "bend sinister" is an heraldic charge: a bar drawn from the upper right to the lower left on a coat of arms (from the point of view of the person facing the shield).

Bend Sinister (album). Studio album by The Fall. Bend Sinister was released in June 1986 by record label Beggars Banquet. It reached number 36 in the UK charts. It also became the first Fall album to be released on CD, with the addition of single "Living Too Late" and a b-side "Auto-Tech Pilot".

Bend Sinister biography BEND SINISTER is a rock band from Kelowna, Canada, that mixes progressive rock with indie-flavored tones. The band formed in 2001 and takes its name from a novel by Vladimir Nabokov from 1947. Led by the distinguishable vocalist and keyboardist Dan MOXON, BEND SINISTER has gone through numerous line-up changes before settling in its current constellation with drummer Jason DANA, guitarist/backing vocalist Joseph BLOOD and bass player Matt RHODE. After two more EP releases, "Spring Romance" in 2010 and "On My Mind" in 2012, the band release their third full-length album "Small Fame" in July 2012. 2014 saw the release of their fourth full-length album "Animals". BEND SINISTER takes its inspiration from bands like QUEEN, SUPERTRAMP, Elton JOHN, Billy JOEL, DEEP PURLE, ELO and THE BEATLES.
