Boris (ボリス Borisu) is a Japanese experimental music band formed in 1992 in Tokyo and composed of drummer Atsuo Mizuno, guitarist/bassist Takeshi Ohtani and t Wata. All three members participate in vocal performance. The band is named after a song of the same name on the Melvins' 1991 album Bullhead.

Then I heard Amplifier Worship and lost myself in a more digital sense, as if my particles were broken down, spaghettified, and locked into the grooves that emerged out of the drone. I cannot name another album that successfully leads me on a journey, carrying my further away from my starting point with each repetitious sonic step from the rhythm and guitar; the subtle deviations and sky-cracking solos will forever be carved in my memory. I like Boris because of their aesthetic. It's different than Electric Wizard - Dopethrone.

Amplifier Worship" is a wondrous, mind-numbing onslaught of guitar tone at its most heavy. It is also a complex and very progressive album, and this is what separates Boris from the rest of the doom/drone/stoner field - their ability to utilise extreme doom and drone amidst various contrasting genres. The bookends to the album, "Huge" and "Vomitself" are pure unabashed outings into heaviness - the former is an abrasive and threatening opening, fully equipped with lumbering doom grooves, shrieked vocals and slogging drone blasts.
