For a Country with such a wonderful musical heritage, we certainly have done a poor job of documenting our accomplishments. While there are dozens of compilations featuring the best in American and British retro, there are precious few dedicated to Canadian music. There is also a serious lack of written research material. For whatever reason,(The famous Canadian inferiority complex? The lack of a Canadian star system? Our regrettable tendency to eat our own?) We, as a nation, just didn't make an effort to keep track of our musical history as it happened.

This CD is our modest attempt at correcting that.

Canada has now been producing world class music for decades. With just 30 million people spread out over the second-largest country on the planet, we have actually done a terrific job competing with the best from the US and the UK. It's our hope that by the end of this disc, you'll not only have experienced some history but also a little national pride as well. By Alan Cross.
