The Best Air Guitar Album in the World. This volume features repeats of songs featured in previous volumes from the series; The Stone Roses' "What The World Is Waiting For" featured on Volume 3, and Mansun's "Wide Open Space" featured on Volume 5, although the version of "Wide Open Space" here is a remix by Paul Oakenfold.

King’s first album for the Stax label combines his hard, unflashy guitar playing with the sleek sound of the label’s house band, Booker T. and the MG’s. Hits such as Crosscut Saw and Laundromat Blues earned King a new rock & roll audience. By their fifth album, Kiss were the most popular band in America, with sold-out stadium tours and eventually their own pinball machine, makeup line and a TV movie. Built around the proto power ballad Beth, this is a ridiculously over-the-top party-rock album that just gets better with age. Listen here. Then this solo debut album of razor-sharp dance pop became the first by a female performer to score four Top Five hits, including Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time.

One moment I plug in my electric guitar to make it rock, scream, tear up the place and feel ecstatic. And the other time I want to indulge in beautiful acoustic guitar songs and get swept away by melody, harmony and lyrics. It’s the best of both worlds. Today were gonna look at same great songs to do the latter. Personally I think Paul Westerberg of the Replacements wrote some brilliant tunes that translate well to acoustic. No Alice in Chains? They put out 2 amazing acoustic albums. I feel No Excuses, Nutshell, or Brother should be on here somewhere.

As the first band signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label, Bad Company, led by former Free singer Paul Rodgers and former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, followed their bosses' lead and specialized in sweaty, swaggering blues rock. Taking another lesson from the Zepmen, Ralphs juxtaposed chiming acoustics with explosive power chords on this Top 10 smash, to wondrous effect. The bright, jangly acoustics lend a relaxed, down-home country vibe to the verses, while the electric guitars in the chorus scream with big, brash British rock

That said, guitar rock may not be as popular as it was in the past, but that doesn't mean that in the genre's heyday, there weren't albums that transcended genres, music types and connected with fans from all over the globe. There are so many influential albums and top guitar albums here that it's impossible to list them all right here. But so many of the biggest bands in the world populate this list and all of the biggest guitar players in the world are rightfully present on here. Their mere presence alone means that their particular album is going to rock. You have dudes like Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young, Tony Iommi and Stevie Ray Vaughn amongst others whose guitar prowess is showcased on so many of these albums. So what are the best guitar rock albums of all time?

From the heart and no bull, no other band ever told it from the heart like Sham 69. Always and Forever. Wire's first album 'Pink Flag' 1977 on the Harvest label is one of the best albums I have ever heard, the tracks and productions are just raw. They are up there with Sex Pistols Anarchy in the UK. Future albums not up to scratch though too refined and not true raw punk.
