Around 2002, The Shocker sold their debut EP, Up Your Asstray. The EP contained seven songs. Finch said that they wanted to show more of their "darker side"; some of the songs were considered more pop than rock. They re-released the EP as a full-length album under the same name (adding "The Full Length" to the title), with songs apropos of a hard rock band added. Up Your Ass Tray EP (Oglio Records, 2003). Showoffs is an American game show which ran on ABC from June 30 to December 26, 1975. Bobby Van was host, with Gene Wood as announcer. The Mark Goodson-Bill Todman production involved two teams competing in a game of charades. Two teams (the red and blue) of three players (consisting of two celebrities and one contestant, with each member wearing a sweater of the corresponding team color) competed.

Silkk had worked with a number of gangsta rappers - including Down South Hustlers, Tru, West Coast Bad Boys, and Master P - before releasing his debut album, Shocker. Perhaps he should have continued his apprenticeship a little longer, because Shocker is an unfocused, uncaring slice of West Coast gangsta rap.
