Horace Swaby (21 June 1954 – 18 May 1999), known as Augustus Pablo, was a Jamaican roots reggae and dub record producer, melodica player and keyboardist, active from the 1970s till his death. He popularised the use of the melodica (an instrument at that time primarily used in Jamaica to teach music to schoolchildren) in reggae music. His album King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown (1976) is often regarded as one of the most important examples of dub.

This collection, which is culled from some of Pablo's finest releases and focuses primarily on his instrumental work, will give the newcomer a good sense of Pablo's uniquely beautiful art. It includes such seminal material as "East of the River Nile" (coupled with a dub version), "African Queen," and the always popular "Java," which is presented alongside an excellent DJ cut featuring Dennis Alcapone and entitled "Mava.

Red Sea (Augustus Pablo album). Red Sea is a studio album by Augustus Pablo released in 1998, containing material recorded between 1970 and 1973 and was produced by Herman Chin Loy. the truth is more interesting than any numbskull made-up crap. the short story below: the genesis of "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown" is actually Herman Chin-Loy's "Aquarius Dub", released in 1972-73 and is among one of the first dub LP's - Augustus Pablo and Clive Chin of Randy's Studio could probably lay claim. This is a classic dub cd and a classic Pablo album. This is his 1973 debut album remastered the sound is great everything about this music is free and fresh and new. What a great way to start a glorious career.
