A Night to Remember is the third studio album by American recording artist Cyndi Lauper. According to the book St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture (Volume 3), the album sold half a million copies in 1989 in the United States. The album cover artwork was taken at the intersection of Plymouth and Pearl Streets just east of the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn New York.

Lauper's last album of the 1980s does nothing to innovate or anticipate the forthcoming styles of the 1990s and, as a result, feels a little bit tired and derivative. There's nothing wrong with the album, but without a solid single to tie-in with it just doesn't stand out. She's So Unusual had Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Time After Time.

On True Colors, Cyndi Lauper began to edge her way into adult contemporary territory, but it was on her third album, A Night to Remember, that she concentrated all of her attention on becoming a self-consciously "mature" singer/songwriter. A Night to Remember doesn't always work, but not because she's incapable of performing polished, well-crafted middle-of-the-road material - "Time After Time" and "True Colors" prove that she could convincingly deliver ballads.
