Amok is the third album by the Finnish metal band Sentenced. The album was released through Century Media Records in 1995. Though still mostly rooted in the death metal genre, this album takes the melodic death metal direction of 1993's North from Here a step further with elements of traditional heavy metal and doom metal, along with elements of the goth rock-inspired style that the band would take on with subsequent releases, following bassist/vocalist Taneli Jarva's departure.

Talk about Noisewerrrrk - Amok

Uris
Short, yet stressful and engaging little slab of gritty German power-electronics. 3 tracks in 13 minutes. 1st track (disintegration) rumbles and grinds along with heavily distorted vocals, and squealing feedback, creating a hypnotic trance inducing repetition. It builds and punches its way into track 2 (killing spree) with machine gun snare rolls, very impactive and rhythmic industrial. Commanding and intense, it grinds along and slowly burns out. Track 3 (self destruction) loops a siren like squall of high frequency over a distorted wall of burning bass wash. The over all vibe is deathly and desolate, creating an atmosphere of stress and fear. Good release overall, feels focused, with each sound and noise placed with intention. Short but promising blast of power-electronics. Blast it for optimum results!
