Vladimir Sofronitsky. Manildi, Donald; Malik, Farhan (2012). php?title Great Pianists of the 20th Century&oldid 898357063".

The most phenomenal talent of our time - he had the technique to blow the competition out of the water; the intellect to tear a piece apart and see what made it tick then put it back together and make it purr like a kitten on Jack Daniels or roar like a Lexus on rocket fuel; and the imagination (and guts) to try something which brings me to my Most Loathed Pianist: Glenn Gould. Murray Perahia-A fighter at the keyboard and life, what a great comeback after a life-threatening (sepsis) hand injury. Artur Rubenstein, Rudolf Serkin, Andre Watts, Emanuel Ax, Gina Bachauer, Marylene Doss, Radu Lupu, Glenn Gould, Mischa Dichter and Jorge Bolet. Keep your eyes and ears posted for a young African American named Terrence Wilson.

Glenn Gould Vladimir Horowitz Marc-Andre Hamelin Sergei Rachmaninoff Sviatoslav Richter Murray Perahia Ivan Moravec Angela Hewitt Aurthur Rubinstein Vladimir Ashkenazy. well i think he needs only 5. Logged. Current Repertoire:

Rudolf Serkin plays the last movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata in performance at the White House.

Glenn Gould Emil Gilels Arthur Rubinstein Maurizio Pollini Annie Fischer Peter Serkin Mieczysław Horszowski Peter Katin Ingrid Fliter Yevgeny Kissin. Hearing Murray Perahia live and on recordings was hugely formative for me, especially his Mozart concerti. I would nominate György Sebök, although his greatest contributions may have been in chamber music and as a teacher rather than as a soloist. As great as the list of pianists you heard are, none on their best day will ever compare to a live Horowitz concert. Serkin once said after he heard the amazing Horowitz that he should give up performing. You also left out Van Cliburn! Reply.

Arthur Rubinstein - Complete Album Collection. Robert Casadesus: The Complete Columbia Album Collection. John Ogdon John Ogdon II Ignacy Jan Paderewski Murray Perahia Maria Joao Pires Mikhail Pletnev Maurizio Pollini Maurizio Pollini II Andre Previn Sergei Rachmaninoff Sviatoslav Richter Sviatoslav Richter II Sviatoslav Richter III Arthur Rubinstein Arthur Rubinstein II Arthur Rubinstein III András Schiff Artur Schnabel Rudolf Serkin Vladimir Sofronitsky Solomon Rosalyn Tureck Rosalyn Tureck II Mitsuko Uchida Andre Watts Alexis Weissenberg Earl Wild Maria. Same with their poorly programmed Rudolf Serkin set, which eliminates the transitional chord between the second and third movements of Beethoven's Appassionata.

And another for pianists a lot of people like but I actually don't care for: Glenn Gould- phenomenal Bach but average everything else. Yuja Wang- mechanical and robotic; technical perfection (and quite pretty) but leaves me empty Alfred Cortot- opposite of Wang: fine interpreter but sloppy playing, struggles badly with the more challenging repertoire.

Murray Perahia stands in the tradition of the great keyboard virtuosi as an artist armed with consummate technical skills, boundless imagination and near-mystic.
