Curtis Knight (May 9, 1929 – November 29, 1999), born Mont Curtis McNear, was an American musician who is known for his connection to Jimi Hendrix. Knight was a singer in the 1960s Harlem R&B music scene, usually fronting his own band, the Squires. In 1965, with Hendrix as guitarist, he recorded some singles and demos for record producer Ed Chalpin.

Not to be confused with Hippie Hippie Shake. A live version of "Hippy Hippy Shake" can be found on The Beatles album Live at the BBC. This version was recorded in July 1963, almost certainly pre-dating The Swinging Blue Jeans recording. The Beatles also played this song in their early days when they performed in small clubs. It is included on Live! At the Star-Club, Hamburg 1962 British garage rock musician Billy Childish and his band The Milkshakes also recorded a cover on their 1984 album '20 Rock And Roll Hits of the 50's and 60's'. The song was also covered by Davy Jones in 1987 as the B-side of his single "After Your Heart".

Curtis is the debut album by American soul musician Curtis Mayfield, released in September 1970. Produced by Mayfield, it was released on his own label Curtom Records. The musical styles of Curtis moved further away from the pop-soul sounds of Mayfield's previous group The Impressions and featured more of a funk and ed sound. The album's subject matter incorporates political and social concerns of the time.
